Bodhi Homesteading- a record of learning

Bodhi Homesteading is a culmination of years of living laboratory research and exploration in California’s rugged Sierra Nevada high desert. Follow along for the journey, and hopefully find some useful information to apply to your endeavors.

Topics will focus on the palimpsest of our location, in the hopes that aspects of our project can be transposed to projects in other similar settings and situations. These include developing themes of sustainable development: green construction, regenerative agriculture, permaculture, and off-grid systems; especially how to navigate these topics within the bureaucratic framework established in California. But also, showing the beauty of this region and all of the wonderful interactions between the land and ourselves- whether the active hiking, skiing, climbing, fishing, hunting, etc., or the passive moments of drawing, painting, and poetry in an effort to reflect on the premise that humans are nature, and there is a responsibility to foster an awareness of place as a mirror of our own values.
